New ‘Millionaire’ up

World Brief

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” will return to Hong Kong airwaves Sunday in a special pitting the wits of mainland Chinese against Hong Kong contestants.

Show is expected to draw a large audience for Hong Kong broadcaster ATV. At its peak during the May-December run last year, nearly 2.5 million people, almost one-third of Hong Kong’s population, tuned in.

“If this proves popular, we may consider another show like it,” said ATV spokesman Timothy Wong. Show may be intriguing because many Hong Kong residents view mainland-ers as intellectually inferior.
