Lauren Lazin has been upped to senior VP of MTV news and docs, the division she now oversees.
“Over the last decade, Lauren’s vision and commitment have been behind some of our most memorable and successful series,” said Dave Sirulnick, exec VP of MTV news and production.
Lazin’s responsibilities include exec producing “MTV Ultra Sound,” “Cribs,” “True Life” and “Diary.”
Lazin joined MTV in 1987 as a producer. Credits for the net include series “Sex in the ’90s,” “Rockumentary” and a number of award-winning news specials.
Before joining MTV, Lazin was a filmmaker whose works aired on PBS and MTV. Her first doc, “The Flapper Story,” screened at the Museum of Modern Art’s New Directors/New Films series in Gotham and won a Student Academy Award. Lazin has also picked up ACE and Monitor awards, as well as a number of Emmy nominations.
