Fox pens in Gluck

Writer-producer to create Guzman sitcom

HOLLYWOOD — Scribe-producer Will Gluck (“Andy Richter Controls the Universe”) has signed on to create and exec produce a half-hour comedy for Fox, with feature thesp Luis Guzman (“Punch-Drunk Love”) attached to star.

Skein, from 20th Century Fox TV, will star Guzman as the owner-operator of a donut shop in New York’s Spanish Harlem. Lead character will interact with his ex-wife, their 21-year-old daughter and her white boyfriend.

“It’s basically Luis and his personality,” Gluck said of the show, which has been given a premium script commitment. “My job is to just not screw up Luis.”

Project reps Gluck’s first stab at creating a series under his recently inked seven-figure overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Guzman also inked a talent holding deal with 20th Century Fox TV and FBC earlier this fall.
