Diaz pulls up KNBC anchor

Weekend vet leaves behind 12 years of service

Diane Diaz has resigned her position as weekend news anchor at the Peacock’s Los Angeles affiliate KNBC.

“I have spent a wonderful 12 years at Channel 4, for which I am very grateful,” Diaz said in a statement. “I have the highest regard for everyone on the Channel 4 news team, and I will miss them. I am delighted, however, to dedicate more of my time to my three very young children.”

KNBC management also issued a statement confirming Diaz’s resignation. “Diaz has been an asset to our company for the past 12 years and has worked on a number of high profile stories and feature segments,” the statement said. “We wish her the best of luck in the future.”

Diaz had been anchoring the weekend editions of the station’s “Channel 4 News” at 5 and 11 p.m. She began her anchor duties at KNBC in September 1992, with the introduction of “Today in L.A. Weekend.” She joined NBC4 in January 1990 as a general assignment reporter.
