Dog days ahead for canine star

Mutt rubs elbows with Cannes elite

What is the fashion accessory supermodel Jodie Kidd, designer Jean Paul Gaultier and French star Jean Christophe Bouvet have in common? Mutt Le Chien of course.

Mutt, dubbed a canine superstar but in real-life a warm-hearted Lakeland Terrier, is in Cannes touting his latest pic “The Dog That Ate Paris,” an Austin Powers- style canine caper set in the high society world of the Paris and London fashion industries.

The celebrity dog has been snapped out and about with such stars as Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant, Dido, Drew Barrymore, Calista Flockhart, Martine McCutheon, Shannon Elizabeth, Stella Tennant, Erin O’Connor, Thora Birch, Steven Spielberg, Dennis Hopper, Milla Jovovich, Guy Pierce, Christian Slater and Paris catwalk model Ivanka Trump.

At Cannes, Mutt has now befriended another thesp — British actor Nick Moran, who is being eyed for a cameo in the pic though no negotiations have transpired.

All Fours Film topper and producer Toby Rose is showing 20 minutes of footage of the pic, which started shooting in January.

“Paris” is story of how Mutt finds himself falsely accused of high society theft and unmasks the real perpetrater and saves his own reputation. Bouvet stars as Marcel Mann, the scourge of the four-legged protag who sets out to bring the dog down.
