MTV has upped Jeannie Kedas to senior VP of communications.
Kedas will oversee all internal and external communications for the music net, as well as press strategies for its launches and special events. Kedas’ responsibilities will also include publicity for MTV Films and the net’s telepics. Gotham-based, she will report directly to net prexy Van Toffler.
“Jeannie is a gifted communicator and leader and has been an important part of MTV’s success over the last several years,” Toffler said.
Kedas, most recently VP of communications, was involved in the launch of “The Osbournes” and net’s 20th anniversary celebration. Her career at MTV Networks began in 1997 as VP of communications and public responsibility.
Before joining MTV, Kedas was the press secretary for Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass).
