Resources Council hosts Hanks, Clinton

Martin, Diaz, Short expected to attend 'Earth to LA'

The Natural Resources Defense Council will tap into an unlimited resource of star power for its variety fund-raiser “Earth to LA II” May 10 at the Wadsworth Theater.

Event will feature Tom Hanks as master of ceremonies and former President Bill Clinton as keynote speaker.

Expected to attend the green event are Steve Martin, Cameron Diaz, Martin Short, Carole King and her daughter Louise Goffin, Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller, Rob Reiner and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The celebrity variety show, chaired by Cindy and Alan Horn, Laurie and Larry David, Sarah and Ariel Emmanuel, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kelly and Ron Meyer, Peter Morton, Robert Redford and Michelle and Rob Reiner, has already brought in more than $1.5 million to support legislative and scientific efforts to clean up the air and water, protect endangered wildlife and limit oil drilling.

The NRDC is one of America’s most influential environmental orgs and has nearly three-quarters of a million members worldwide.
