Members of the Producers Guild of America have re-elected Kathleen Kennedy as prexy of the org for a two-year term.
The PGA, which has been focused on the issue of credit proliferation, announced the results following the org’s general membership board meeting Sunday night.
Kennedy’s producing credits include “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Jurassic Park,” “The Color Purple,” “The Sixth Sense,” “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” “Jurassic Park III” and the upcoming “Signs.”
Members also named Hawk Koch as VP, motion pictures; Marshall Herskovitz as VP, television; Pixie Wespiser as secretary; and Erin O’Malley as treasurer.
Kennedy was named co-president last year with Tim Gibbons following the merger of the PGA and the American Assn. of Producers. Gibbons was tapped Sunday as a two-year member of the Producers Council Board of Governors along with Bruce Cohen, Tracey Edmonds, Lawrence Gordon, Brian Grazer, Gayle Maffeo, Michael Manheim, Dorothea Petrie, Marian Rees, Stacey Sher, Darren Star and Christine Vachon.
Walter Barnett, Chuck Bond, Jerry Bruckheimer, Mark Gordon, Debra Hill, Bruce Kerner, Kathy Landsberg, Steven Lenchner, Brenda McAdams, George Sunga, Saul Zaentz and Laura Ziskin will serve until next year’s election.
PGA exec director Vance Van Petten said current membership of the guild is about 1,750, or more than quadruple the level of two years ago.
The org has positioned itself as an advocate for everyone on the production team, particularly TV line producers and production coordinators, and has made headway on the credits issue in conjunction with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, which has insisted only three producers can accept a best picture Oscar.
The PGA is working to create an accreditation board similar to the Writers Guild of America.
The PGA also elected an AP Council Board of Governors to oversee five job categories: associate producer — Kristine Harlan, Erin O’Malley, Yvonne Russo, Joy Tan, Ioanna Vassiliadis, Beverley Ward, Pixie Wespiser, Sabrina Wind; production/post coordinator — Courtney Covington, Catherine Johnson, Judy Race, Susan Sherayko, Lois Walker; segment/field producer — Jeffrey Lerner, Joe Neary, Kelly Olsen, Rachel Pihlaja, Kitchi Trinoskey; production manager — Carole Beams, Jade Mills, Jeff Sarver; and post-production — Terra Abroms, Derek Bartholomaus, Amanda Ramey.
