Duo creative at Big Idea

Schenbaum, DiNoto to aid expansion into film, TV prod'n

Family media company Big Idea Prods. has added two execs to its Los Angeles office’s creative development department. Gail Schenbaum and Karen DiNoto have joined the company to facilitate its expansion in feature film production and entrance into TV production.

A 20-year veteran in film and TV production, Schenbaum will serve as senior vice president of creative affairs. She will be involved with live-action and animated family feature films, direct-to-video and television projects.

A former producer and creative consultant, Schenbaum has worked for Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, the American Film Institute and Paramount Pictures.

DiNoto has been tapped VP of creative affairs. She spent 10 years at Fox Kids as a director and vice president. Most recently, she was a consultant for the Hallmark Channel.

Big Idea Prods. is best known for its award-winning animated series “VeggieTales.” Skein, along with toons “Larryboy” and “3-2-1 Penguins!,” have sold more than 30 million videos and 3 million albums since 1993.

The Chicago-based company will release its first feature film “Jonah — a VeggieTales Movie,” a retelling of the Bible story of Jonah, in October.
