Journalist Anna David will pen a modern-day version of RKO’s 1938 romantic comedy “Affairs of Annabel.”
David’s adaptation will tell the story of an actress who goes undercover as a maid and nanny in order to win a role in a movie and ends up re-evaluating her life and falling in love. The original RKO pic starred Lucille Ball.
RKO chairman and CEO Ted Hartley and Alex Hitz will produce the project. RKO VP production Peter Morgan developed the story with David and will oversee the project with RKO creative executive Afsoun Yazdian.
David has appeared as an on-air entertainment correspondent for CNN and wrote a monthly column for Premiere magazine. She has also written for Variety, Us Weekly, Playboy, People and TV Guide.
