Comerica and Wincom join hands

CEG looks to expand into Asia with Arshin at the helm

L.A.-based Comerica Entertainment Group has forged an entertainment banking alliance with Hong Kong- and Japan-based Wincom Enterprise.

Wincom, which exclusively finances Asian content, will provide business development services and client management for Comerica in Hong Kong, Japan, China, India, Thailand and Korea.

Heading the alliance in Asia is Wincom prexy and former CEG associate counsel of business affairs Peter Anshin. CEG senior VP and co-manager Jared Underwood reps the alliance in Los Angeles.

“This represents another step toward our goal of having a presence in every major entertainment production region throughout the world,” says Underwood. “As demand for Asian product grows, so has its need for entertainment finance structures and we are happy to respond to that need.”

Says Anshin, “Entertainment producers in each Asian territory may have characteristics unique to their region, yet share a common desire to reach lucrative international markets. CEG’s financial services will enable these regional producers to realize this goal, producing larger budgeted films while avoiding creative control issues often imposed by equity investors.”
