Gil Bellows is exiting the cast of CBS drama “The Agency,” while David E. Kelley is looking to add characters to the casts of his Fox dramas “The Practice” and “Boston Public.”
Moves come as the networks begin to tweak the casts of their fall series and eye changes to returning skeins. Here’s the latest on recasting:
- Bellows’ departure from “The Agency” apparently was a mutual decision. It comes as creative changes are under way on the show for next season.
Among the reasons for Bellows’ exit, insiders said, were the creative shifts the show has made in recent months, including the addition of several cast members. Bellows is repped by ICM.
At least one role, likely a male paramilitary case officer for the CIA, is expected to be cast for next season. CBS Prods. and Universal Television produce “The Agency,” which moves to Saturdays this fall.
- Kelley is seeing thesps for the role of a woman fresh out of law school who’ll join the firm at the core of “The Practice” as a new associate.
He also has feelers out for one or more young male teachers for “Boston Public.”
Both shows are produced by David E. Kelley Prods. in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
- CBS Prods. and Alliance Atlantis Prods. are looking to add to the cast of upcoming CBS drama “CSI Miami.” Changes also are afoot among the casts of ABC/Touchstone’s newcomer “Life With Bonnie” and Fox/20th’s “Septuplets.”
