‘Deeper’ takes prize

LONDON — Rapper-singer Ms Dynamite’s debut album, “A Little Deeper,” won the U.K.’s prestigious Mercury Music Prize Tuesday night at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House hotel.

Ms Dynamite is the first solo black female to win the £20,000 ($31,000) prize. In addition she is up for six Mobo Awards, which are specific to black musi-cians, in October.
