NEW YORK — Clear Channel Entertainment will publish Show People, a new quarterly consumer magazine aimed at at all aspects of the theater community, including casts and crews as well as audiences.

Published in association with Forbes Custom Communications Partners, Show People will initially be distributed to theater patrons in 45 markets across North America with a print run of 170,000.

Clear Channel owns, operates and/or exclusively books approximately 135 live entertainment venues, including more than 100 in North America and 30 in Europe.

Publisher Hailey Lustig said the debut issue of Show People would be going to Clear Channel subscribers, which she said translated into 300,000 readers. That 68-page premiere edition is set for September. Mag will eventually be available on newsstands at a cover price of $3.95.

Pacheco tapped editor

Clear Channel named Patrick Pacheco as editor. He is a freelance journalist for Newsday, where his features and weekly column Play by Play have long appeared. Lustig had previously been director of programming at Pace, SFX and Clear Channel, where CEO Scott Zeiger made her executive director of publishing last December.

Show People is Clear Channel’s first magazine venture. Lustig said the company is considering other possible publishing endeavors.
