ShowEast greets Grant

Bullock to present co-star with star of the year award

HOLLYWOOD — Hugh Grant, who next stars in Warner Bros. romancer “Two Weeks Notice” opposite Sandra Bullock, Wednesday was named to receive a star of the year award at ShowEast 2002.

Grant will be feted at an Oct. 11 dinner sponsored by Warners and Kodak. ShowEast opens Oct. 9 at the Marriott Orlando World Center in Orlando, Fla.

“It’s a great honor to have the industry pay tribute to Hugh Grant for the sheer enjoyment and delight he has brought to moviegoers worldwide during his most extraordinary career,” Warners distrib prexy Dan Fellman said.

‘Boy’ most recent credit

Grant has starred in pics including “About a Boy” (2002), “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (2001), “Notting Hill” (1999), “Mickey Blue Eyes” (1999), “Extreme Measures” (1996) and “Four Weddings and a Funeral” (1994).

In “Two Weeks Notice,” he portrays a millionaire real estate developer in a comedic tug of war with his attorney, played by Bullock. Co-star will present Grant with his award at ShowEast.

“Two Weeks Notice” opens wide Dec. 20.
