Mexican exhib will go local

World Brief

Exhib Cinemark is holding a Mexican Film Day on Sept. 12 to promote the national industry.

It will unspool 30 Mexican features, old and new, at its 256 screens across Mexico, with tickets costing 10 pesos ($1), roughly a quarter of the average price.

Coin raised will be donated to Fidecine, a trust fund set up by the government to aid national production. Fidecine is administered by Imcine, which still helps to produce most features here.
