Tracy Mercer has been promoted to senior VP development at Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Motion Pictures and will report to Valhalla president Barbara Boyle.
Mercer was most recently the executive in charge of production on Valhalla’s upcoming PBS documentary, “True Whispers.” In addition, she developed projects such as Paramount Pictures’ recent “Clockstoppers,” “Aeon Flux,” “Boston Stranglers,” “Life During Wartime” and “Mercury.”
Mercer also brought in several comic book properties now in development, including Top Cow’s “No Honor” and “Magdalena” and Chaos! Comic’s “Jade.”
Mercer joined Hurd’s Pacific Western Prods. as a story editor and was promoted to director of development and then VP.
Prior to Valhalla, Mercer worked as a story editor for Rob Fried at Sony as well as Dan Halstead at Halstead Pictures. She was previously a personal assistant to Jennifer Aniston and a reader for Team Todd.
Mercer graduated with honors from Pepperdine University with a BA in Communications and Political Science before attending film school at San Francisco’s Academy of Art Motion Picture MFA program.
Valhalla is currently in production on Ang Lee’s “Hulk” for Universal Pictures.
