TV skein's Duff to take main role in feature

Jim Fall (“Trick”) has signed up to direct the $15 million live-action tween comedy “The Lizzie McGuire Movie,” a feature version of the Disney Channel skein, for the Mouse House.

Hilary Duff will reprise her starring role from the show in the feature, which starts shooting Oct. 14.

Pic, penned by Susan Jensen, follows Lizzie as she graduates from middle school and takes a trip to Rome.

Pic, as with the series, will feature the interstitial animation sequences depicting her alter ego.

Stan Rogow will produce feature for Walt Disney Pictures, with project being overseen at the studio by senior VP of production Karen Glass.

Pic is expected to be released in spring 2003.

Fall is also attached to direct “Footloose” musical remake for Disney/ABC.
