Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, who stars in Steven Shainberg’s Sundance special jury prize winner “Secretary,” has secured back-to-back gigs in two new pics: John Sayles’ “Casa de los Babys” and Lodge Kerrigan’s “In God’s Hands.”
Gyllenhaal, who has been working steadily since 2000 — co-starring in such pics as “Cecil B. DeMented,” “Donnie Darko,” “Riding in Cars With Boys” and currently “40 Days and 40 Nights” — will join Lili Taylor, Daryl Hannah and Mary Steenburgen in “Babys.” Sayles will helm, and Lemore Syvan will produce. Lensing is skedded for late summer.
“In God’s Hands,” which will lense in Gotham, was penned and will be directed by Kerrigan. Gyllenhaal is cast opposite Peter Sarsgaard. Tim Perell will produce through his Gotham-based shingle Process.
Aside from “Secretary,” which Lions Gate will bow this summer, Gyllenhaal, repped by CAA and 3 Arts, will next be seen in Spike Jonze’s “Adaptation.”
