Pandora ‘Tempting’ sales for thriller

Carlyle, Pardue, Malone in talks for adaptation

Pandora has completed a slew of presales on its psychological thriller “Tempting Pandora,” lining up deals in 13 territories including France, Germany, Spain, Japan, Scandinavia and Korea.

Pic, penned by Jeffrey Vlaming based on a story by Casey La Scala, is story of a student who interviews a serial killer in an attempt to gain admittance to a prestigious Harvard U. psychology program.

Robert Carlyle, Kip Pardue and helmer William Malone (“House on Haunted Hill”) are being circled for the pic though as yet no negotiations or deals are in place. Pic is expected to start shooting this August with Pandora’s Hunt Lowry producing with La Scala.

Deals have been finalized with M6/SND (France), RTL (Germany), New World (Spain), Gaga (Japan), Dan Film (Scandinavia), Jay Net (Korea), Paradise (Benelux), Jaguar (Middle East), Noah (Israel), Media Vizyon (Turkey), MGN/Paradise (Eastern Block, CIS), Golden Scene (Hong Kong) and Menera Media (Indonesia).

“There has been an exciting reaction from buyers to this film and I am delighted that we have done so well at Cannes,” says Pandora’s executive VP of worldwide sales Sebnem Askin.
