Fox 2000 has captured “Catch That Girl,” paying mid-six figures for remake rights to the Danish teen-adventure pic of the same name.
Described as a junior “Mission: Impossible,” project centers on a girl and two boys forced to pull a bank heist in order to save the girl’s father. The original release, produced by Bo Ehrhardt and Lottie Terp Jakobsen for Nimbus Films, opened earlier this year in that territory and revolved around 12-year-old girl Ida who with sidekicks Jonas and Sebastian defeat the world’s most secure bank vault.
Andrew Lazar, whose Mad Chance Prods. shingle is based on the Warner lot, will produce; Mad Chance senior VP Damien Saccani and Denmark native Mikkel Bondesen, who formed management/producing firm Graup-Bondesen last year, will be exec producing.
Fox 2000 exec VP of production Carla Hacken will oversee “Catch” for Fox 2000 topper Elizabeth Gabler.
