The 16th annual AFI Fest in Los Angeles will open Nov. 7 with the U.S. premiere of the Fox Searchlight release “Antwone Fisher,” Denzel Washington’s directorial debut starring Washington, Derek Luke, Joe Bryant and Salli Richardson.
Event will close Nov. 17 with a gala presentation of Sony Pictures Classics’ Pedro Almodovar’s “Talk to Her,” starring Dario Grandinetti, Rosario Flores, Javier Camara and Leonor Watling.
Screenings will be held at the Cinerama Dome at ArcLight Hollywood.
The festival’s centerpiece gala Nov. 12 will showcase the U.S. premiere of “Ararat” from Canadian writer-helmer Atom Egoyan starring David Alpay, Charles Aznavour, Eric Bogosian, Brent Carver, Marie-Josee Croze, Bruce Greenwood, Arsinee Khanjian, Elias Koteas and Christopher Plummer.
Christian Gaines heads the fest.
