HOLLYWOOD — “Black Hawk Down” won a pair of Golden Reel Awards for dialogue/ADR and effects/Foley from the Motion Picture Sound Editors org.
The kudos were presented Saturday at the 49th annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards ceremonies at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
The feature music award went to “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” while “Moulin Rouge” copped the music award for a musical and “Shrek” won for music in an animated feature. “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” won the sound category for animated features, while “Amelie” won the foreign feature trophy.
The episodic TV music award went to “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” while “Six Feet Under” won the dialogue/ADR episodic trophy and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” took the episodic award for effects/Foley.
“Uprising” took the longform dialogue/ADR nod, while the longform effects/Foley trophy went to “The Lost Battalion.” “Ruby’s Bucket of Blood” won the movies/special music trophy.
“The Dark” received the Verna Fields Student Award, and “Ambush” took the trophy for made-for-computer entertainment. “A Texas Funeral” won the direct-to-video gong, while “The Human Body” took the special venue kudos.
