SoapCity nabs SPDE, Yahoo deal

As part of its long-term marketing alliance with Sony, Yahoo is creating a co-branded soap opera site on Yahoo! TV to be run by SoapCity.com, a division of Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment. SoapCity has more than 1.4 million unique visitors per month seeking daily soap updates, news, behind-the-scenes reports, event coverage and exclusive interviews with celebs. Site also operates the official dot-coms for sudsers “The Young and the Restless,” “Days of Our Lives,” As the World Turns” and “Guiding Light.” Site already is the exclusive provider of sudser-related content for AOL, AOL TV, Netscape and CompuServe, as well as AvantGo. New Yahoo edition will be promoted to the portal’s 219 million monthly visitors via ads and promos throughout the Yahoo portal. SPDE’s advertising sales unit is responsible for advertising and promotional program sales on the co-branded site.
