nReach content kiosks to debut in L.A. airport

Digital distribber nReach said it would debut its first kiosks selling content for PDAs, cell phones and other handheld devices at Los Angeles International Airport in September.

The Mobile Content Kiosks initially will be located in The Gate Escape’s locations in the Bradley International Terminal and United Airlines’ Terminal 7, with plans to expand into two other concourses by early 2003. The kiosks will sell movies, music, games, maps, guides, electronic books and software for Palm-compatible handhelds, Pocket PCs, Linux-based devices and MP-3 players. The kiosks also will sell cell-phone ring tones, icons, screen savers and games. The materials are transferred onto memory cards, or in the case of cell phones, wirelessly.
