HOLLYWOOD — Universal Studios Home Video has promoted Ken Graffeo, Lawrence Hariton and Richard Longwell to executive VPs in the marketing, operations and sales departments, respectively.
“Under their leadership, Universal Studios Home Video has experienced explosive sales and growth, and we are on track to achieve our fourth record-breaking year in a row,” prexy Craig Kornblau said.
Graffeo, promoted from senior VP, will continue to oversee and direct all facets of marketing for USHV product and its distributed lines. He joined the division in 1999, coming from Polygram Video.
Hariton oversees ops
Senior VP and chief financial officer Hariton has been upped to exec VP of operations and logistics for USHV and exec VP of direct account management for Universal Music & Video Distribution (UMVD). He will continue to oversee all manufacturing, distribution, strategic and financial planning for USHV as well as direct account management for UMVD.
Hariton, who had been VP of national credit for what was then MCA Distribution Corp. in the early 1980s, rejoined Universal in 1996 after serving as president of Pacifica Health Options and prez-CEO of Aqua Purity Sentinel.
Longwell, who has been with Universal since 1998, was promoted from senior VP to exec VP of sales and retail marketing for USHV and exec VP of sales and distribution for UMVD.
He will continue to be responsible for all video sell-through and rental sales for video and music retailing. Before joining U, Longwell held exec sales positions at MGM Home Entertainment and for 13 years at Buena Vista Home Entertainment.
