NEW YORK — Producers Mark Sennet, Alan Jacobs and Mark Hayman are developing a project about the Bonny Lee Bakley murder based on Dennis McDougal’s upcoming book “To Live and Die in Los Angeles.”
Book, to be published by National American Library this summer, is a portrait of Bakley that covers detective Robert Ito’s investigation of her murder as well as the tumultuous relationship between Bakley and Blake.
Bakley, 44, married Blake after becoming pregnant with his child, who is now 2 years old and in the custody of Blake’s adult daughter. Blake is being held in L.A. County Jail for allegedly murdering Bakley outside of an Italian restaurant in Studio City. Court case resumes June 18.
Sennet is an exec producer, along with Storyline Entertainment’s Craig Zadan and Neal Meron, of the upcoming CBS pic “Martin and Lewis,” about Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. He also produced “Legacy of Sin” for Fox TV. Jacobs is former West Coast prexy of Hallmark Entertainment. Renaissance’s Joel Gotler repped McDougal.
