The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks continue to play havoc with the nets’ fall lineups.
ABC said Wednesday it’s pushing back the soph-season premiere of “The Job” to Nov. 7. Denis Leary laffer had been set to bow Oct. 10 — a week after the season premiere of NBC’s “The West Wing.”
But with NBC pushing back “West Wing’s” season opener until Oct. 10 (to accommodate a special edition of the drama Oct. 3), ABC schedulers figured it made more sense to protect “The Job” for a few more weeks. The Nov. 7 date is also the likely return date of “NYPD Blue,” though nothing has been set in stone yet.
Meanwhile, NBC is considering delaying the third season premiere of “Third Watch” again, this time to Oct. 22. Insiders said production concerns may be behind the delay, which if it happens, will likely be finalized on Friday.
“Third Watch,” which revolves around New York emergency workers, was the first Gotham production to resume following the Sept. 11 attacks.
