Walter cooking up Emeril role

Garners lead in Lagasse laffer on Peacock

Comic thesp Lisa Ann Walter is cooking up a primetime comeback.

Star of the short-lived mid-1990s laffers “Life’s Work” and “My Wildest Dreams” has been cast as one of the leads in NBC’s as-yet-untitled Emeril Lagasse laffer. Skein is from NBC Studios.

The UTA-repped Walter has a role in the upcoming TNT drama “Breaking News.” She also appeared with Dennis Quaid in the recent remake of “The Parent Trap.”

Two different webs tried to build sitcom vehicles around Walter, a stand-up comic. Fox tried first in summer of 1995 with “Wildest Dreams,” in which Walter played a working mom with dreams of rock and roll stardom. A year later, ABC put her at the center of “Life’s Work,” casting Walter as a lawyer-with-kids.
