MTV Networks’ VH1 has tapped ad-promo and marketing maven Susan Kantor for the role of senior veep-creative director.
She’ll be moving to the cable net from the syndie world, where she’s been exec VP of marketing for Studios USA Domestic TV, which syndicates such shows as “Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Sally” and “Maury.”
At VH1, Kantor replaces Monica Halpert, who is seguing to a creative consultant role.
SUDT hasn’t yet named a successor for Kantor.
In her new job, Kantor will report to VH1 and Country Music Television prexy John Sykes, and she’ll continue to be based in Gotham.
Kantor will be responsible for development and creation of all on-air promotion for VH1 and its biz exten-sions, as well as for the net’s off-air creative services department. She’ll oversee a staff of about 50.
Prior to working as exec veep of marketing for SUDT, Kantor was senior VP of ad-promo for the studio and its predecessor Universal TV Group’s worldwide television distrib division. “Susan has done an outstand-ing creative work for some of the industry’s strongest brands,” Sykes said. “We’re excited that she’s renewing her relationship with MTV Networks, which dates back to her involvement in the landmark ‘I Want My MTV’ campaign.”
