Twentieth taps Burns senior VP

Exec to o'see marketing, research of firstrun, off net p'gramming

Fox syndie arm Twentieth Television has tapped Joanne Burns senior veep of marketing, research and strategic planning.

She’ll oversee the marketing and research of firstrun and off-net programming, produced for the syndie and cable markets.

Burns, a 23-year vet of the entertainment industry, most recently worked at CBS/Eyemark (now King World), where she put together a research unit to support syndication, cable, licensing and international sales.

She also launched that company’s Web sites and managed cross-promo activities and marketing campaigns for syndie properties “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Martha Stewart Living” and “Touched by an Angel.”

Prior to that, she was senior VP of NSS at Nielsen Media Research’s syndie division.

She spent six years at Buena Vista Television, as well as four years at LBS, now Pearson. She began her career at Westinghouse/Group W Television in sales and research.
