RTL shopping around

Business Brief

BERLIN — Although execs at RTL have reiterated their interest in 24-hour German news channel N-TV, the European broadcaster is reportedly looking at other investments, like CNBC or Euronews.

RTL and N-TV shareholders failed to agree on a price last month, but sources at RTL have said it will wait and see if a deal can be struck.

N-TV shareholders AOL Time Warner, which owns 25%, as well as the Nixdorf family, are looking to sell their stakes in the web. CNN will keep its 25% of the channel, while RTL would likely acquire 10%-25%.
