Alpha Digital skedded to launch in November

MIAMI — Playboy TV Intl. has partnered with Athens-based Attica Publications to enter the Greek market with a combo Playboy TV/Spice Platinum channel to bow on the Alpha Digital satellite platform.

Alpha Digital is scheduled to launch in November.

Playboy TV Intl. has inked an exclusive license agreement with Attica, which brokered the accord with Alpha and will seek additional carriage deals for the adult feevee. Playboy and Attica will work together to design the programming schedule.

The single Greek signal will carry a branded block of Playboy TV programming in the evening hours, while latenight hours will feature the more explicit fare of Spice Platinum in another branded block.

Playboy recently announced the launch of Spice Platinum as a pan-European premium adult service (Daily Variety, Aug. 30).

“Attica’s extensive outlets in print, radio, film and now TV, including Playboy magazine, promises numerous opportunities for cross-promotion of the Playboy Channel,” said Marc Zand, senior VP, business affairs and development, at Playboy TV Intl.
