Pearson TV N.A. taps exec VP

Duties include strategic direction of prod'n biz, online

Pearson TV North America’s new deputy CEO Catherine Mackay has elevated Cecile Frot-Coutaz to exec VP of commercial and operations, continuing the restructuring of the revamped Pearson Television.

Frot-Coutaz will be responsible for managing the commercial and strategic direction of Pearson TV N.A.’s production biz and developing online games and interactive TV.

Pearson TV’s North American operation syndicates such gameshows as “Family Feud” and “To Tell the Truth,” and it produces “The Price Is Right” for CBS.

Frot-Coutaz had been working under Mackay in digital media at Pearson TV Enterprises, where Mackay was prexy before the restructuring (Daily Variety, May 8).

Frot-Coutaz will be based at the company’s Santa Monica offices, reporting to Mackay. She’ll also work with David Lyle — who was recently upped to prexy of entertainment for Pearson TV N.A. — to manage production control and finance.

Before joining Pearson Television Enterprises in the U.S. in September, Frot-Coutaz was the company’s chief exec for southern Europe. Before that, she worked in the Worldwide Production division.

Frot-Coutaz joined Pearson’s strategy department in 1994. She moved to Pearson Television in September 1995.
