Lions Gate Television Distribution has appointed Douglas Friedman senior veepee of worldwide television marketing for Lions Gate TV.
Based in Lions Gate’s Marina del Rey offices, Friedman will be responsible for marketing, advertising and promotions for all Lions Gate TV products, both domestically and overseas, including the new syndicated actioner “Tracker.”
LGTV, which has been bulking up its television production slate over the past year under the leadership of CEO Jon Feltheimer, also is readying the reality hour “No Boundaries,” slated for a midseason debut on the WB. Several telepics also are in the pipeline.
“Doug’s experience and reputation as a marketer of television product is tremendous,” said company topper Ira Bernstein. “With TV station as well as domestic and international distribution experience, he is the perfect person to run Lions Gate’s TV marketing.”
Friedman most recently was prexy of Malibu Marketing. Before that, he was senior VP of creative services for Genesis Entertainment and New World/Genesis Distribution, where he oversaw promos and ads for “Access Hollywood,” “Real Stories of the Highway Patrol” and “Tales From the Crypt.”
