Inside move: ABC Ent.’s Braun keeps Mouse ears

Co-chair to sit 5 more years over TV

ABC Entertainment Television Group co-chair Lloyd Braun has sealed a new five-year deal to remain at the Alphabet web.

New pact means both ABC entertainment toppers will remain Mouseketeers for the foreseeable future. Fellow co-chair Stu Bloomberg signed a pact last month to remain at the network for another three years (Daily Variety, July 11).

Five-year deals are unusual among top TV execs, who generally negotiate two- or three-year tours of duty. But insiders said Braun remains extremely passionate about his job and partnership with Bloomberg.

Braun joined Bloomberg atop ABC Entertainment Television Group in July 1999, when Disney consolidated its ABC and Touchstone TV programming oversight. Exec previously served as chairman of Buena Vista Television Prods. (which included Touchstone), joining in April 1998.
