Greek Star declines Oz pact

World Brief

Greek commercial broadcaster Star has denied reports from Down Under that it has signed with Australian digital satellite service Tarbs.

“We’ve not made any such deal,” Star’s public relations manager Lola Daifa told Daily Variety.

Last week Tarbs said in a press release it would add Star to its bouquet. But Daifa said Star would be interested in discussing a deal since there is a large Greek community in Australia.

Competing Greek broadcasters ET, Alpha and Antenna already transmit in Oz.
