E! Latin American subs hit 10 million

Local prod'n efforts spur spike

E! Entertainment’s E! Latin America and E! Brazil collectively hit the 10 million subscriber mark in the first quarter of 2001.

The milestone represents an increase of 2 million subs over the previous year, with Latin America emerging as the company’s largest territory outside the U.S.

Contributing to the growth, E! has embarked on an aggressive local production effort delivering more than 250 hours of original programming per year, including Spanish- and Portuguese-lingo programming from Sao Paulo, Caracas, Mexico City and Buenos Aires.
