NEW YORK — John J. Wolters has been upped to executive vice president of the ABC Broadcast Group.
Wolters, who had been exec VP, finance, of the ABC Television Network, will report to ABC Broadcast Group prexy Robert Callahan and ABC Television Network prexy Alex Wallau.
After he opted not to make the move to the West Coast as senior VP, finance and planning, for the ABC Entertainment Television Group, it was unclear what role Wolters would play at the company.
He now will be responsible for a broad range of business and strategic issues at the ABC Broadcast Group, including revenue generation.
“John’s exceptional track record at the ABC network, including his proficiency and judgment at organizing and analyzing complex financial information, makes him especially well suited for this strategic position,” Callahan and Wallau wrote in an internal memo.
As exec VP, finance, for ABC Television Network, Wolters was responsible for managing all network accounting and treasury functions, financial planning, telecommunications, information systems and production auditing.
Wolters joined ABC in 1978 as assistant corporate controller.
