Christine Taylor, Jennifer Beals and Brian Austin Green can throw away those help wanted ads. These thesps are among the latest signed to star in pilots this development season.
Taylor (“The Brady Bunch Movie”) has been cast in NBC’s ensemble laffer “True Love,” a Paramount Network Television pilot from exec producers Judd Pillot and John Peaslee. She’ll play a married Gotham ad exec in the romantic comedy about two couples — one married, the other recently separated.
Thesp’s most recent regular small screen gig was as the lead in the 1996 Fox comedy “Party Girl.”
Also added to the cast of “True Love”: Sean O’Bryan, a regular on the short-lived UPN laffer “Pig Sty.” He will play a veterinarian whose fiancee has just dumped him.
Beals, best known for her 1983 turn in the film “Flashdance,” has been tapped to star in the ABC drama pilot “Being Brewster.” Beals will play the mother of seven kids in the Touchstone TV project, which comes from exec producers Kerry Ehrin and Nena Rodrigue.
“Being Brewster” could become Beals’ first regular TV gig since ABC’s short-lived drama “Nothing Sacred.” Her most recent credits include telepic “After the Storm.”
As for Green, the former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star will join the ensemble cast of the NBC comedy pilot “Leap of Faith.” The NBC Studios project, from Jenny Bicks, focuses on the tangled relationships among a group of thirtysomethings.
Beyond “90210,” Green’s credits include the TV movies “Laws of Deception” and “Unwed Father.”
