‘Spot’ has its day

Thesp sez trusts dogs more than people, especially in this business

Warner Bros.’ Sunday preem of “See Spot Run” was all about dogs, from the theater’s front-row canine contingent — courtesy of the LAPD — to the pre-party’s cuisine of choice, Pink’s hot dogs.

The dog day afternoon at Hollywood’s Mann’s Chinese Theater included booths dishing up such activities as pet the puppy, adopt-a-pet and paint your face like a dog.

The pic’s stars, including the bull mastiff Bob, were guided into the tented pre-screening bash courtesy of a trail of paw prints.

Pic’s star Leslie Bibb told Daily Variety that there is no better friend than a dog. “I am more of a dog person than a people person,” she said. “Who can you trust more than them, especially in this business.”

“My dogs are my best friends, though I am not sure though if they feel the same way about me,” said co-star David Arquette.

Also on hand were Warner Bros. honchos Barry Meyer, Alan Horn, Brad Ball, Dan Fellman and Kevin McCormick; director John Whitesell; producers Andrew Deane, Robert Simonds and Tracey Trench; cast members Paul Sorvino, Anthony Anderson, Michael Clarke Duncan, Joe Viterelli, Angus Jones; and guests Mira Sorvino, and Patricia and Rosanna Arquette.
