‘Goldwyn’ back on screen

PBS to air docu on Oct. 7

At Monday’s preview screening of “Goldwyn” at the Museum of Television & Radio, writer-producer A. Scott Berg said, “To view Samuel Goldwyn’s career is to examine most of Hollywood’s history. When he entered the business, he went to Thomas Edison for advice; and shortly before suffering the stroke that ended his career, the last entry on his phone list was from Warren Beatty.”

Preview was hosted by the Motion Picture & Television Fund (PBS airs the docu Oct. 7). Among those on hand were co-directors Mark Catalena and Peter Jones, plus Goldwyn’s daughter Ruth Capps, her half-brother Samuel Goldwyn Jr., John Goldwyn, Sally Field, Jeff Berg, Kevin McCormick, Roger Mayer, Ken Scherer and Art Linson.
