Max Lewin

Max Lewin, who spent many years working as an actor and publicist, died March 24 in an accident while walking on Santa Monica Boulevard in L.A. He was 79.

During the 1960s and ’70s he owned a coffeehouse on the Sunset Strip called Chez Paulette, which was popular with actors, folk singers and poets. He also owned a restaurant, Chez Alma, in the San Fernando Valley that was popular with entertainment people living in the area.

He is survived by a son and daughter.
