Francis Dale Sneller

Francis Dale Sneller, a Democratic Party activist and veteran thesp whose credits include “The War of the Worlds”, died May 15 of cancer in Tucson, Ariz. She was 78.

Born in New York City, Sneller spent her early years performing in the Mercury Theater with Orson Wells and Vincent Price under the moniker Suzi Wainwright.

Involved in both artist and political pursuits, Sneller was active in the Entertainment Corp. with Gene Kelly before becoming involved in Democratic Party politics in her later years and serving on several commissions, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

She is survived by her son, producer Jeffery Sneller; a daughter, writer Suzi Moore McGregor; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
