IFP unveils slate for No Borders

Pix include 35 projects from the U.S. and abroad

List of films
The Independent Feature Project has announced its slate of 35 works for the seventh annual No Borders co-production market, which will take place at the Tribeca Grand Hotel during the IFP Market, Sept. 30-Oct. 4.

Goal of the invite-only program is to match indie projects with buyers, investors and agents.

“Through our solid relationship with our partners on the program and through our own solicitation process, No Borders aspires to bring together a slate of projects each year which the IFP believes stand a fighting chance in the international arena,” IFP exec director Michelle Byrd said.

Accepted projects consist of 12 documentary works-in-progress and 23 scripts from the U.S. and abroad (virtually all of which are English-lingo).

Slate includes works by Chris Curling and Phil Robertson (“My Son the Fanatic”), Diana Elbaum (“Lumumba”), Richard Johns (“Shadow of the Vampire”), Paul Mezey (“La Ciudad,” “Spring Forward”), Tim Perell (“Jump Tomorrow,” “World Traveler”) and Andrea Sperling (“The Doom Generation”).

Among orgs bringing the coin are the U.K.-based Film Council, Germany’s Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen and Telefilm Canada. Filmmaker support organizations on hand will include CineMart and the Sundance Institute.

Previous No Borders projects included Josh Aronson’s “Sound and Fury,” a docu Oscar nominee released last year by Artistic License; Nanette Burstein and Brett Morgen’s docu “On the Ropes,” nommed for an Oscar and released by WinStar in 1999; Jeremy Podeswa’s “The Five Senses,” released by Fine Line in 2000; and Ed Radtke’s “The Dream Catcher,” released last year by Redeemable Features.

No Borders sponsors include Eastman Kodak and HBO Films.
