Sonya McNair has been tapped VP of publicity and corporate communications for the Fox Broadcasting Co.
Based in Gotham, McNair will oversee East Coast communications and media relations for the net. She replaces Jeff DeRome, who ankled in late August.
“Sonya’s multifaceted background adds a new dimension to our communications team. She is highly regarded in the press community and we are thrilled to have such a dynamic professional join us,” said Joe Early, senior VP, publicity and corporate relations, to whom McNair will report.
Most recently, McNair was VP of communications for the Channel One Network and Primedia Digital Video where she was responsible for developing media strategies for all network programming and special events. Previously, McNair was director of media relations for ABC News, where she served as the spokeswoman for the network news division and supervised communications in Gotham for all news programs, including “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight” and “20/20.”
McNair joined ABC in 1994 as an assistant publicity manager in Washington D.C.
