NEW YORK — Zomba Music has named veteran gospel music exec Max Siegel as president of its gospel imprint Verity Records. Siegel, who will be based in New York, also was tapped VP of Zomba Music Group USA.
Siegel will oversee all day-to-day operations at Verity, home to such major gospel acts as Donnie McClurkin and Fred Hammond. In addition, he will be on the lookout for strategic opportunities across the Zomba Group, which also includes pop juggernaut Jive Records.
Exec comes to Zomba from the hip-hop label Tommy Boy Records, where he was co-head of A&R operations, as well as head of the Tommy Boy gospel division.
Before joining Tommy Boy, Siegel was a partner at the law firm Siegel, Carter & Associates, where he repped such artists as Yolanda Adams, Krystal Harris and Sparkle, as well as sports stars Reggie White and Antonio Davis.
