Tony tix sell out in four hours

Waiting list 450 deep for seats

In a testament to the heat Broadway is generating this year, the 1,500 Tony Awards tix that were offered to the general public sold out in record time. It took just four hours — compared to last year, when it took three days to move the seats — for the thespian-hungry masses to drain the pool of $150 and $75 seats at Radio City Music Hall. Tensions are mounting among the Broadway theater company members, out of concern that they will be shut out; and there’s a 450-person-deep waiting list to get a seat at the legit kudofest.
