Student fest seeks entries

Past winners include Schock, Bui

The winner of the top prize at the sixth annual Angelus Awards Student Film Festival, the Patrick Peyton Award of Excellence in Filmmaking, will take home a $10,000 check. Entries are now being accepted.

In addition, $1,500 will be awarded for best production design, outstanding nonfiction film, outstanding animation and audience impact.

Actor Ricardo Montalban will serve as honorary chair for the event sponsored by the Family Theater Prods. of Hollywood.

Past Angelus winners include Barbara Schock, winner of the 1999 Academy Award for best live-action short for “My Mother Dreams Satan’s Disciples in New York,” and Tony Bui, producer of “Green Dragon,” starring Patrick Swayze and Forest Whitaker.
