Don Rhymer, who shared writing credit on “Big Momma’s House,” will rewrite and make his directorial debut with Fox-based Regency Enterprises’ “Fat Tuesday.”
The scribe-helmer will be paid high six figures.
From an original script by Tom Lassally and Peter Elkoff, story centers on a man who, while applying for his marriage license, discovers he is already married.
Lassally will produce. Regency senior veep of production Kara Francis, working under Regency prexy Sanford Panitch, will oversee the project, which the shingle is fast-tracking.
Repped by the Gersh Agency, Rhymer is writing “Chaos Theory” at Universal and “Jumanji II” at Columbia.
Regency Enterprises has three pics in production: “Life, or Something Like It,” starring Angelina Jolie, as well as “Unfaithful” and “Joe Somebody,” which are co-financed with Fox.
